Your little office for big ideas
The quarter: This place has traditionally made noise (german: Krach) and industrial history. A pillar of Chemnitz’ industrial heritage, the former production site for spinning machines “Spinnereimaschinenbau” has been full of life, music and culture for some years now. Its proximity to the university with its research institutes and the Südbahnhof contributes to its atmosphere as does the club directly situated on the premises – including a beer garden and a pool. So, you can make and shape your future amidst a highly creative environment. If you want to take a break from all this, there is a laser-tag arena, the Escape Room Chemnitz and an indoor bouldering hall on the premises.
The location: The huge industrial site of the former Spinnereimaschinenbau offers a lot of space for project development. In your close neighbourhood on the premises there are small businesses, craftsmen, offices and educational institutions; and there is the Spinnerei, an open-air area that is a major Chemnitz clubbing venue in the summer. Public transport connections are great. The Chemnitz University of Technology and the Stadtpark are close by, as are several shopping facilities.
The Space: Converted into an office, this renovated space has been fitted with new windows and also makes for a perfect studio.
The Offer: The first three years are rent-free. You only pay the ancillary costs including an advance payment of the heating (0.80 €/m²) and energy (10 €/month) costs. After this period, the rent will be 4.50 €/m²; there is no minimum rental period.
