PM: Info evening on January 11th gives insights to the Chemnitz Prize for Creative Enterprises

The city of Chemnitz, the association Kreatives Chemnitz and the South-Saxon start-up network SAXEED invite to a joint information evening about the KRACH - Kreativraum Chemnitz programm on January 11th 2018, 7 pm at co-working space "Zammwerk", Theaterstraße 56, Chemnitz. People interested in founding will learn all about the KRACH Chemnitz Prize, whose first application round ends on 31 January 2018, as well as further support offers for founders. In addition to KRACH mentors, who can be consulted on application issues, the SAXEED start-up consultants provide information this evening. In addition, the KRACH object on Theaterstraße can be viewed, which beckons to the prizewinners as free commercial space for the next three years.

"Our colleagues at the start-up network are important multipliers for KRACH," explains Sören Uhle, Managing Director of Chemnitzer Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, which coordinates KRACH: "The employees of SAXEED are the first point of contact for the majority of start-ups from the universities of South-West Saxony in the development of business concepts and the use of subsidies, as provided by KRACH", adds Uhle.

"With KRACH, our start-up consultants can in the future point to a very concrete support to settling in Chemnitz: Free rooms for several years, a start-up budget and a wide range of consulting services are definitely attractive for young companies," says SAXEED project manager Susanne Schübel. "For us, this is the living cooperation between the city and the university." Thus, the information event, which is also part of the series of SAXEED founding evenings, will also present a project from the cultural and creative industries supported by SAXEED. The collaboration is to be continued at upcoming events, for example with a presentation of the program at the award ceremony of the SAXEED ideas competition on January 22th - this is where KRACH presents itself. At the award ceremony, the finalist teams will pitch in the categories "students" and "scientists" - the audience and the live jury will decide on the winners on the basis of a short presentation. The aim of KRACH - Kreativraum Chemnitz is to promote the establishment of companies and projects in the cultural and creative industries in Chemnitz. On the initiative of the City of Chemnitz, the Chemnitzer Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH and the industry association Kreatives Chemnitz eV, public and private landlords provide commercial space in Chemnitz for up to three years free of charge for these projects for use. In addition, the winners will receive a start-up budget of 2,500 euros and support from experts in business, law and marketing. The first application will end on January 31, 2018.
